As we predicted, Lucy was a trooper for her medical exam. She told the nurse that she wouldn't cry when she had her 2 immunizations and TB test, and she didn't. We are pretty sure that her toughness must be her way of coping with this transition...or maybe she is Supergirl, who knows. We have had a few pretty major meltdowns in the past week, but we think she will probably need to go through that to learn to trust us.
After we got back to the room after the shots, Lucy began to scratch below her ear where the tumor is and after a few minutes it had whelped up pretty big. We called our guide who contacted the doctor and we were advised to just watch it. After an hour or so it finally went down. We are anxious to get that checked out once we get back to the states.
We have been watching lots of DVDs in the room and Lucy always picks Go, Diego, Go. Jude is so tired of preschool DVDs, but atleast Will still enjoys them.
Lucy just fell asleep while coloring a picture of Diego....I know coloring makes me sleepy, too.

ReplyDeleteHow sweet is the picture of the '3' grands!! We can hardly wait to see ALL of you, in person, here in ARKANSAS!! Ya'll are doing great, 'melt-downs' happen in every family when there are big adjustments to be made! Our love and upward thoughts are continuing as we live & breathe! Give the kids a great big hug from MeMa & PaPaw!!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, the swimming suit picture is awesome! thinking lots about you guys and can't wait to have you home!
ReplyDeleteSome famous, intelligent person, whom I cannot remember, said: "Nothing worthwhile is ever gained without sacrifice." And I believe that is so. And it is true with you five as well. As you go through the transition together remember that we are remembering you, upwardly, so to speak! Keep up the good work!
